My wife suffered from sciatica in her left leg during her second pregnancy. She told me it felt like a pack of wild animals was chewing on her leg. This description had such a great visual quality that I created an image based on it. I really liked this concept of using animals to define human ailments, so I created a few more based on things that I or my wife have personally experienced.
